FAQ

How can I tell if I have bed bugs?

Common signs include red, itchy bites (often in lines or clusters), small blood spots on bedding, dark fecal spots on mattresses or furniture, shed skins, and live bugs (particularly along mattress seams, headboards, and nearby furniture). Our thorough inspection can confirm bed bug presence.

Conventional treatments typically require 2-3 visits spaced 2 weeks apart to address the complete life cycle. Heat treatments often achieve elimination in a single visit but may be supplemented with targeted conventional treatments for optimal results. Every infestation is different, and our program includes as many treatments as needed to achieve elimination.

We provide detailed preparation instructions before treatment, which may include laundering and bagging clothing, removing clutter, moving furniture away from walls, and vacuuming. Our goal is to make preparation manageable while ensuring treatment effectiveness.

For conventional treatments, you’ll need to leave during application and return after the treatment has dried (typically 4-6 hours). For heat treatments, you’ll need to be out of the home for the entire treatment day (typically 6-8 hours). We provide specific instructions for each situation.

We recommend inspecting hotel rooms upon arrival, keeping luggage elevated and away from beds, inspecting luggage before bringing it into your home, and laundering travel clothing in hot water immediately upon return. We provide detailed travel guidelines for our customers.

Most homeowner’s insurance policies do not cover bed bug treatment. However, some landlord policies may cover treatment in rental properties. We can provide detailed documentation for insurance claims if needed.

Warren County

While often considered an urban problem, bed bugs can affect any home regardless of location or cleanliness. In Warren County’s rural areas, we often see bed bugs introduced through second-hand furniture, visitors, or travel. Our treatment approach for these more isolated properties focuses on thorough elimination to prevent reintroduction in areas where professional services may be less readily available.

Historic and older homes in Warren County often present unique challenges for bed bug control due to more hiding places in ornate woodwork, plaster walls with cracks, and original wooden floors. Our technicians are experienced with these structures and adjust treatment strategies to address these architectural features while preserving their character.

Hunterdon County

In Hunterdon County’s apartment communities and multi-family housing, bed bugs can move between units through wall voids and common areas. Our approach for these properties includes coordination with property management, attention to adjacent units, and strategies for preventing reinfestation from neighboring spaces.

Hunterdon County’s senior living communities require special attention to safety, reduced preparation requirements, and minimal disruption. Our bed bug protocols for these communities include assistance with preparation, lower-impact treatment options, and coordination with facility staff to ensure resident comfort throughout the process.

Morris County

Morris County residents frequently travel for business and vacation, increasing the risk of bed bug introduction. Our bed bug services for these households include not only thorough elimination but also preventative strategies for frequent travelers, including luggage inspection protocols and early detection methods.

Morris County’s newer high-density housing developments require specialized approaches that address shared walls and building systems. Our bed bug protocols for these properties include coordination with HOAs, attention to HVAC and utility penetrations, and strategies for preventing movement between units.

Somerset County

Somerset County’s mix of luxury homes, apartments, and older housing requires flexible treatment approaches. Our technicians adjust methods based on construction type, furnishing value, and resident needs, with particular attention to high-value furniture and possessions common in Somerset’s upscale communities.

Somerset County’s hotels and corporate housing face ongoing bed bug prevention challenges. Our commercial bed bug services include rapid response protocols, discreet treatment methods, and preventative programs designed specifically for the hospitality industry to protect guest experience and business reputation.
